We utilized user interviews and user diaries to discover the pain points of the user during the car rental process. The interview questions were divided into 5: introduction questions, general service habits, perceptions of the brand and competition, service specifications, and summary questions. We have updated the interview questions as necessary as we learn more about the rental process and user experience.

Current User Journey
I mapped out the current user jouney (step by step journey) that a user might take to reach their goal. The following journey includes 3 main layers: before, during and after. These layers describe the process of renting the Autotel service from start to finish and its purpose is to identify user pain points and challenges, as well as to better understand and empathize with the user's experience.

Autotel reduces the burden of owning a car
This is one of the biggest pains that the platform solves. With Autotel, users state that they enjoy the benefits of having a car without owning it—reducing the expensive cost of maintaining a car and responsibilities that come with it, as well as creating stress-free mobility.
A better alternative than public transportation
It seems that most Autotel users are not fans of public transportation and are searching for an alternative. According to some of the users, "taxis are much more expensive" and using Autotel is the best option. Moreover, it is an especially good option when there's no public transportation (like Saturdays and late at night).
Convenience over money
The most significant factor for Autotel users is convenience, not money. Users consider Autotel to be a better option even though buses, bicycle and scooters are cheaper. Autotel users looking for an easy way to get from one place to another.
Feeling of uncertainty
The experience of using the Autotel app is known for its uncertainty. There is no guarantee of finding an available car or parking. Utilizing the platform is based on availability per moment, and there's no option to schedule pre-use.
Service is not diverse enough
There are no vehicles for different kind of use or purposes. Users said that they were missing the option for other kinds of cars for a variety of potential uses. Different vehicles options like pick-up trucks, or full day rentals can help alleviate this issue.
